HONOURING VETERANS

The local community has received more than $26,000 in support from the Victorian Government.

Vicki Ward MP welcomed the announcement in the lead up to ANZAC Day by Minister for Veterans, the Hon Shaun Leane MP as part of the 2021 Veterans Grants.

The Greensborough RSL Sub-Branch will restore and preserve the memorials at the Greensborough war memorial park so it can continue to be in good condition for future generations. The installation of a QR code stand will tell the history of the memorial and the servicemen the memorial is dedicated to.

The Diamond Creek RSL Sub-Branch will purchase and refurbish a shipping container and use it to display memorabilia and honoring Australia's Service men and women and creating ongoing rotating exhibitions and educational resources for public viewing. It will also be used to promote annual commemorative Services and is prominently located on the main road adjacent to the cenotaph and will be a central piece in creating a memorial precinct
