Briar Hill Preschool - New Inclusive outdoor space

On Tuesday the Member for Eltham, Vicki Ward MP along with Wayne Phillips, Mayor of Banyule City and Natasha Elkington, Centre Director of Blair Hills Preschool opened the centre’s new inclusive outdoor space funded through the Andrews Government’s Inclusive Kindergarten Facilities Program.

Briar Hill is an outstanding local, parent run preschool, located within beautiful parklands and which is celebrating 50 years of operation. Thanks to the Andrews Government, this well-loved preschool will be able to continue with even better facilities. The recent upgrade provides a more inclusive environment and welcoming outdoor space for children and families.

Every child deserves the best opportunity to succeed and that is why the Andrews Government is making a record investment in preschool. From 2022, every three-year-old will have access to at least five hours of kindergarten a week, increasing to 15 hours by 2029.

As part of the rollout preschools in Eltham are sharing in a record $473.2 million. This is the largest investment in early year’s infrastructure in Victoria’s history and will mean more inclusive learning environments across our community.

This record investment will deliver more than just better and more preschools, it means every child no matter their circumstance or background, can receive the best start to life.

Quotes attributable to the Member for Eltham, Vicki Ward MP:
