Women’s sport in Eltham wins again!
The whole Eltham community is going to benefit from a landmark grant of $3.4 million from the Andrews Government’s Shared Facilities Fund. These funds are going to deliver women’s friendly facilities that both the students at Eltham High can use along with other community groups.
We know that women’s participation in sport is on the rise and with a local shortage some facilities like netball courts, this project is vital in order for these trend to continue.
The works currently being delivered includes installing lighting at the sports oval, upgrading and increasing the number of multi-sport courts to consist of two futsal pitches, six tennis and two netball courts, plus resurfacing two outdoor netball/basketball courts.
We're also building new clubrooms with unisex change facilities, a canteen, storage, undercover area, and improving car parking for the sports complex.
This will mean increased capacity for women’s teams to continue to grow with inclusive facilities that cater to everyone.
