Andrews Government announces $1500 payment for Victorians affected by COVID-19

Victorians who have contracted coronavirus or had contact with a confirmed case as of 20 June will be able to access a $1500 payment if they are unable to rely on sick leave.

The payment will last until at least 31 July and will ensure those with symptoms can stay home without financial burden. Making it easier to comply with directions from health authorities will keep more Victorians safe and contribute to flattening the curve.

The Department of Health and Human Services’ case and contact tracing team directly contacts all confirmed COVID-19 cases and their close contacts. A needs assessment for the payment will be done over the phone as the only way to access it.
