UPGRADING PRESCHOOLS ACROSS BANYULE

Families in Banyule will have access to more kindergarten places and better preschool facilities, thanks to new investments by the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Early Childhood Education Jenny Mikakos today announced seven early learning facilities in Banyule would share in $400,000 of funding for upgrades and improvement projects.

The Labor Government has worked with the City of Banyule and the local community to decide where the investment was needed most.

The Government will provide $400,000 to Banyule Council for improvement projects on seven early years facilities in the local area, including:

•                     $70,000 to upgrade Apollo Parkways Preschool’s office, storage and meeting area

•                     $50,000 for outdoor works to improve accessibility at Lower Plenty Preschool

•                     $60,000 to improve accessibility of their outdoor spaces at Briar Hill Preschool

•                     $50,000 for yard works and veranda blinds for Wahroonga Preschool

•                     $60,000 for a range of outdoor improvement works at Panorama Heights Preschool

•                     $60,000 for yard works as part of Yandell Preschool’s masterplan

•                     $50,000 for exterior blinds and stairs at St Helena Preschool

The Labor Government has invested a record $123.6 million to build, expand and improve early years infrastructure across Victoria to ensure local families can continue to access great local kindergartens.

Banyule families will also benefit from the Government’s landmark $202.1 million Education State Early Childhood Reform Plan, which recognises the importance of giving families support in early childhood so kids are ready for kinder, ready for school and ready for life.
