Helping our Communities Sport’s Clubs to Survive and Thrive

Member for Eltham, Vicki Ward today announced twenty-four grants of $1,000 have been approved in the electorate so far from the Government’s Community Sport Sector COVID-19 Survival Package.

Community Sport is an integral part of our community and this support will help local clubs to pay the bills, making a return to play that little bit easier.

The successful clubs are:

  • Diamond Valley United Soccer Club

  • EC Waves Swim Club Inc

  • Eltham Bowling Club

  • Eltham Cricket Club

  • Eltham District Horse and Pony Club

  • Eltham Football Club

  • Eltham Lacrosse Club

  • Eltham Panthers Junior Netball Club

  • Eltham Redbacks FC

  • Eltham Rugby Union Football Club

  • Eltham Tennis Club

  • Greensborough Football Club

  • Greensborough Tennis Club

  • Laurimar Calisthenics College

  • Lower Plenty Football Club

  • Olympic Southern Fryers Ice Racing Club

  • Research Eltham Collegians Cricket Club

  • Research Junior Football Club

  • Research Lower Plenty Baseball Club

  • St Helena Saints Basketball Club

  • St Thomas Greensborough North Basketball Club Inc

  • Westerfoldians Inclusive Running Club

These grants from the Labor Government’s $40 million community support package will make it that little bit easier for clubs to support players and volunteers as Victorians start to train and compete together again.

Sport and active recreation clubs and associations have been hit hard by the coronavirus shutdown and these grants form a key part of the government’s investment n supporting the community during these challenging times.

Vicki congratulates the successful clubs and looks forward to seeing them return to play.
